Largs is a small coastal town comprising of 13, 000 people. Though it is a small town it has become a very popular holiday and beach resort. It is located opposite to the North End of Great Cumbrae Island on the River Clyde. It has historical reverence way back during the rule of the Vikings.

On the contrary North Ayrshire is a more largely populated town with a population of about 139, 000, comprising the area of Scotland and the surrounding islands as well.

The two towns together have become good tourist attractions with its many rivers and beaches. It has a few church parishes of the nineteenth century origin. A railway station in the recent years added to its importance by making it easily accessible for the tourists.

Added to these features, with the flow of tourists on a regular basis, a large number of hotels started springing up throughout the town. When a town becomes a place of tourist interest, naturally there are bound to be a lot of activities and hotels and even shopping areas.

Largs - North Ayrshire is no exception to this. With the spread of its name as an excellent beach resort, its visitors started to come from many places. The town still houses a lot of attractions like the Kelburn castle which is today considered the seat of the Earl of Glasgow, the famous Viking Centre and a lot of Neolithic tombs, if you are an archeologist.

Though the town has lost much of its tourists in the recent years, one can still find a comfortable hotel to stay and have a good vacation on one of the many beaches at Largs - North Ayrshire. It has pride in being one of the 13th century towns celebrating its yearly festival with all pomp and grandeur.

Visiting this exotic town will surely bring good memories to its visitors. Nothing would seem wasted while basking on the sands of the superb beaches and taking short naps at the various hotels spread over this 13th century splendor.
